TESTIMONIAL

TESTIMONIALS:
2018 was the year that Massachusetts had our first two post-secondary students compete at the National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. Hear from a former member & national officer

John Lucas Guimaraes, former National PS Executive Officer Bristol Community College Class of 2022

"BPA has had such a great impact on my high school experience. I became a more presentable and skillful professional as well as met extraordinary people from all across the nation. So when March was approaching and SLC was around the corner, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to Dream Bigger. SLC flew by, as it usually does, and something about participating in the Post-Secondary Division felt more impactful. At SLC, I served as a Super Intern for the second time along with helping with the Conference-in-Review video.

When it came to NLC, it was much different. As being the first ever Post-Secondary Virtual Chapter competitors we were more independent. We had to purchase our plane tickets on our own and figure out things my secondary chapter did for me the prior year. However, when I got there, I knew I was in for an adventure. I served as the first ever Post-Secondary Head Voting Delegate for Massachusetts to vote for our 2018-19 Post-Secondary National Officer Team. I had a blast and I am very confident in our new leaders.

With my competitions, I placed 1st in Administrative Support Team, which I have never competed in before, and placed 10th in Human Resource Management in a whole new Division. Last year’s NLC will always remain in my heart, but this year going up against the unknown, facing my fears, and dreaming bigger was amazing. I highly suggest every senior in Mass BPA to go further in this organization and join the Post-Secondary Division. It is extremely rewarding and I believe Mass BPA PS is going to take off next year!"
